The fire was reported in the 500 block of Henon Lane shortly before 5 a.m. Elizabethtown police and fire crews responded to a fully fire engulfed home.<\/p>\n
Public Affairs Officer for Elizabethtown Police Department Chris Denham said when firefighters went inside the home, they found two men dead inside. Both men, identified as 41-year-old Blake France of Greenville and 43-year-old Anthony Garrett of Elizabethtown, had been shot.<\/p>\n
According to officials, the fire was found to have been intentionally set. Witnesses told police that a gold pickup truck had been seen leaving the scene.<\/p>\n
Denham said officers quickly found the truck at a local motel. Video surveillance showed 45-year-old Dustin Caudill, of Elizabethtown, left the truck and later discarded a handgun. Later in the investigation, police found personal belongings of the victims inside Caudill\u2019s motel room.<\/p>\n
During an interview, Caudill admitted to shooting the victims and intentionally setting fire to the house. It was also learned that Caudill shot at a third victim. He also admitted to stealing wallets from the victims and throwing them away in a gas station trash can, according to police.<\/p>\n
Caudill was taken into custody and charged with arson, two counts of murder, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, robbery, and wanton endangerment.<\/p>\n
He was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. He is scheduled for video arraignment in Hardin District Court on Thursday, October 31.
