Kentucky State Police troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on US 68 near the intersection of Jessietown Road in Marion County at 6:20 p.m.<\/p>\n
Police said 20-year-old Erick Garcia was traveling west on US 68 in a 2005 Dodge Ram when he crossed the centerline of the roadway and went into the eastbound lane. He then dropped from the roadway and steered his vehicle back into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox.<\/p>\n
The Equinox driver, 75 year-old Roy Wright was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital, where he later died. His passenger, 72 year-old Deborah Wright, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.<\/p>\n
Garcia was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, assault, DUI, wanton endangerment and other traffic offenses.<\/p>\n
Garcia was lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.
