The council returned from the closed session to take no action on the matter. <\/p>\n<p>In other business, City Clerk Amy Haynes reported 571 credit card payments had been received over the past month. She said that credit card payments are steadily increasing from month to month. Police Chief Brian Hagg reported his department received 294 calls for service. He thanked council members who rode along with officers on Halloween to hand out candy and glow sticks. He said that over 800 glow necklaces during the evening. <\/p>\n<p>Mayor Pace reported that the Public Works Department repaired 8 water leaks and cleaned 4 sewer mains and lift stations due to blockages related to flushable wipes. The wipes continues to be a major maintenance issue for city crews as they block pipes and cause damage to pump equipment. <\/p>\n<p>City crews are beginning work to setup this year&#8217;s Christmas By The River in River Front Park. The opening ceremonies will be held on Saturday, November 30. Organizers are working to include at least 4 new light displays into the drive through event. City leaders are hopeful that donations will increase over the past couple of years to help with utility expenses of the event. <\/p>\n<p>Mayor David Pace reported to the council that the committee for the proposed occupational tax has met and had a good discussion and are planning to meet again before Thanksgiving to attempt to bring the council more information and any possible recommendations on the issue.
