In other top races of interest, US 2nd District Congressman Brett Guthrie received 10,687 votes over Democratic challenger Hank Linderman&#8217;s 3,251 votes. Republican 5th Distirtc State Senator Stephen Meredith received 10,445 votes over Democratic Challenger Jamie Skudlarek of Ohio County who received 3,362 votes. In the 27th State Representative Race, Republican Incumbent Nancy Tate received 9,317 votes over Democratic challenger Tyler Chapman, who received 4,674 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Meade County voters voted down State Constitutional Amendment 1 related to voter eligibility with 9,373 Yes votes over 4,173 No votes. Local voters shot down State Constitutional Amendment 2 related to school vouchers for private schools by a vote of 8,564 No votes over 5,327 Yes votes.<\/p>\n<p>The local question of issue related to allow medical cannabis in Meade was approved by voters with 9,707 Yes votes over 4,144 No votes.<\/p>\n<p>In non-partisan races, in the Brandenburg City Council race seated incumbents Bruce Fackler with 561 votes; Rhonda Allen received 548 votes; Mark Spry with 426 votes. Write-in candidates Donna Brown received 179 votes; followed by Grant Wiles with 43 votes while incumbent Yolanda Clark and John David Woodward each received 32 votes each. According to Meade Clerk Susan Masterson, the tie will be broken by a coin toss within the 48 hours of the election to decide the winner of the sixth seat on the council.<\/p>\n<p>In the Ekron City Commissioner&#8217;s race, Emma-Lee Payne received 51 votes; David DeCosta received 47 votes and write in candidate Kevin Wethington received 6 votes. In the Muldraugh City Council race, Curtis Kelley received 110 votes; Jim Heavrin received 103 votes; Karie Lykins received 91 votes, Sharon Hodge had 87 votes while Gary Scott received 71 votes.
