The Floyd County Sheriff\u2019s Office in Indiana says a scammer is posing as a representative of the United States Postal Service and sending a text message of packages being held up because of an \u201cinvalid zip code.\u201d<\/p>\n
The text message says the package is temporarily detained and will provide a link to click on.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t fall for it,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
Authorities said they have verified with the post office that this is a scam, and you should delete the text.<\/p>\n
If you are concerned with the status of a delivery, you should check directly with the company (package tracking apps) or contact the post office about an actual delivery.
