According to the release, the Memphis native was found guilty of sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, obstruction or interference with a sex trafficking prosecution or investigation, interstate transportation for purposes of, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n
This comes after his co-defendant, 25-year-old Brittany Howard of Bowling Green pleaded guilty on October 30 to interstate transportation for purposes of prostitution and obstruction or interference with a sex trafficking prosecution or investigation.<\/p>\n
The charges stem from an incident back in 2022 when Govan and Howard met the victim at a gas station in Bowling Green. They then went to a hotel room where the duo recruited her to engage in sexual acts with the promise of making money.<\/p>\n
According to Bowling Green police, officers responded to a disturbance at the Ramada Inn on Scottsville Road. Govan and Howard were arrested and taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.<\/p>\n
Govan is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on March 25, 2025. He faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life.<\/p>\n
Howard is scheduled for sentencing on March 9, 2025.
