Shortly after midnight, Washington County 911 dispatch received calls that someone had broken into a residence in the 800 block of Claybrooke Avenue in Springfield, according to his arrest citation.<\/p>\n
The caller said a man broke into the home, shot two people, then fled the scene on foot.<\/p>\n
Officers found a woman dead inside the residence. She was shot and killed. Another woman was transported to a nearby hospital with an apparent gunshot wound to the face.<\/p>\n
Investigators identified 23 year-old Roosevelt Davis, III as a suspect. A Shelbyville Police officer found Davis in Simpsonville and performed a traffic stop and able to detain him.<\/p>\n
During a police interview, authorities say Davis admitted to robbing a bank in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, using the money from the burglary to buy two firearms and camouflage, then driving to Kentucky to kill the two victims.<\/p>\n
Davis was charged with murder (domestic violence), attempted murder (domestic violence) and burglary (first degree).<\/p>\n
He is being held at the Shelby County Detention Center on a $2 million cash bond.
