\nOn January 21, the Hopkins County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to a single-vehicle wreck with possible injury on 18160 Beulah Road in Dawson Springs.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, deputies observed a semi and trailer overturned off the right shoulder of the roadway.<\/p>\n
According to the release, the semi was severely damaged from the impact. First responders had to use extraction equipment to retrieve the driver, 63-year-old David Pleasant, from inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n
After the investigation of the scene was complete, it was determined that Pleasant was traveling westbound on Beulah Road when he came to a sharp curve to the left.<\/p>\n
He was unable to make the left turn and drove off the right shoulder of the roadway.<\/p>\n
The semi and trailer overturned losing 22 pieces of mat that were secured by winch straps, per the release. The semi and trailer came to a final rest on the top of the cab.<\/p>\n
After the driver of the semi was removed, Coroner Dennis Mayfield arrived on the scene and declared him deceased.<\/p>\n
Medical Center Ambulance Service, Charleston Fire Department, Richland Fire Department, and Coroner Dennis Mayfield assisted at the scene.
