\nOn January 23, the Scottsville Police Department and Allen County Sheriff\u2019s Office attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2004 Dodge Durango being driven by 22-year-old Chelsea H. Bennett of Smithville, TN due to a traffic violation.<\/p>\n
She failed to comply with officers\u2019 attempts to stop her and fled from the police. According to the release, she led law enforcement on a multi-mile chase through Allen County.<\/p>\n
During the pursuit, she crashed into a police cruiser causing significant damage. Officers deployed tire deflation devices that disabled her vehicle.<\/p>\n
The chase concluded on Highway 100-W, almost three miles west of Scottsville. She was apprehended by law enforcement and taken to the Medical Center of Scottsville for an evaluation.<\/p>\n
She is being held in the Allen County Detention Center without bond. She is facing multiple charges, including Attempted Murder of First Responder Peace Officer and Reckless Driving.<\/p>\n
Bennett also has outstanding felony probation warrants in Tennessee.
