According to Kentucky State Police Post 3 Trooper Katan Parker, 44 year-old Bobby W. Johnson fled after a trooper attempted to stop him for lacking visible registration plates on his car.<\/p>\n
A vehicle pursuit began just before 5 p.m. along Pace Quarry Road and lasted several minutes before the vehicle was stopped along Munfordville Road.<\/p>\n
Trooper Parker said Johnson attempted to ram one of the Kentucky State Police cruisers involved in the pursuit. A vehicle was damaged but no troopers were hurt during the encounter.<\/p>\n
Johnson was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center and is charged with nearly 20 charges, including attempted murder of a first responder (peace officer), first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), driving on a DUI suspended license (third offense) and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.<\/p>\n
Johnson was scheduled to appear in court on Monday afternoon. He is being held under a $500,000 cash bond.
