A woman and her 7-year-old child died after their vehicle was swept away by flash flooding in Bonnieville.<\/p>\n
On February 15, the Bonnieville Fire Department and Hart County Sheriff\u2019s Office were dispatched to 1900 Campground Road.<\/p>\n
A caller reported they attempted to cross the bridge and had driven into high water. The caller was inside the vehicle when water began to come in.<\/p>\n
According to a press release by the Hart County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the Bonnieville Fire Department was the first to arrive where they noticed a car partially submerged in high water.<\/p>\n
The sheriff\u2019s office and fire department attempted to remove both occupants from the vehicle.<\/p>\n
They noticed a 7-year-old female and extradited her from the car. The other occupant was unable to be removed from the vehicle due to rising water.<\/p>\n
Emergency services on the scene tried to revive the young girl, but all their attempts were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n
The following day on February 16, officials returned to the scene where they recovered the car and second occupant, 35-year-old Amy Philpott of Vine Grove.<\/p>\n
Other agencies that helped on the scene were the Munfordville Fire Department, Hart County Ambulance Service, Hart County Coroner\u2019s Office, Hart County Rescue Squad, Hart County Emergency Management, Munfordville Police Department, Horse Cave Police Department and Kentucky State Police.
