\nKentucky State Police Post 4 responded to an injury collision on Kentucky 259 in Breckinridge County involving an Amish buggy around 3:15 p.m. CST on Thursday (03\/06). <\/p>\n
Kentucky State Police received a call from the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance with an injury collision near the 14,000 block of South KY 259 near the McDaniels Community in Breckinridge County. <\/p>\n
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2004 Ford Taurus, operated by 55 year-old Brenda Aubrey, of Custer, was traveling south when she rear-ended the horse-drawn buggy. The operator of the buggy, 33 year-old Elise Girod and three juvenile passengers were transferred by helicopter to the University of Lousiville Hospital for treatment. Two of the juveniles were later released, and Girod and one remaining juvenile remain in the UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Aubrey was transported to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, Hardinsburg Police Department, Breckinridge County EMS and the McDaniels Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.<\/p>\n
