\nOn Tuesday, March 11, the Glendale Fire Department responded to a report of a large barn fire with numerous pieces of equipment inside.<\/p>\n
\nOn Tuesday, March 11, the Glendale Fire Department responded to a report of a large barn fire with numerous pieces of equipment inside.<\/p>\n
While en route, units were requested from Sonora, Upton, and Valley Creek Fire departments.<\/p>\n
When they arrived, a barn, about 100\u2032x100\u2032, with four semi-trucks, five tractors, and other equipment was fully involved. The fire was also spreading fast to other nearby equipment due to the wind.<\/p>\n
According to Glendale Fire Department, there were numerous other hazards close by, including fuel and propane tanks. Due to the size of the fire and the fact that the closest fire hydrant was nearly a mile away, numerous tanker operations were needed.<\/p>\n
Crews were simultaneously dealing with a field fire beginning due to the wind-driven fire. Additional brush units were requested from Central Hardin, Valley Creek, and Larue County fire departments.<\/p>\n
All requested units, including the Stephensburg Fire & Rescue, Hardin County Emergency Management, Hardin County EMS, and Nolin RECC, responded to assist.<\/p>\n
Crews were able to confine the fire to the building where it began. They were also able to save numerous pieces of equipment.
