The manslaughter conviction coming as a lesser charge to the murder charge he was facing. An official sentencing date has not been set yet.<\/p>\n
Jordan Henning killed his wife, Ashley, on her birthday in 2023. The entire incident, including an argument that preceded the shooting and the shooting itself, was caught on a home video camera.<\/p>\n
When the trial resumed on Thursday, the defense began with their closing. They described Henning\u2019s emotions as a bucket, with each account of his wife, Ashley, verbally or physically abusing him as a constant drip until his bucket overflowed.<\/p>\n
\u201cJordan lost control. He snapped. He broke. Period,\u201d Defense Attorney Roger Rigney said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow did he think reckless homicide would help his career?\u201d Rigney continued. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t. If he was in his right mind and in control of the situation that night and not suffering from extreme emotional disturbance, why would he do this in front of the cameras he helped install? Think about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no evidence she was a threat to him,\u201d Eric Carr, Hardin County Assistant Commonwealth Attorney said.<\/p>\n
Police say Jordan shot his wife five times after a heated argument. The Commonwealth Attorneys believe the evidence is clear. The fatal moment between the couple was caught on camera. They disagree with the self-defense claim.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf what you saw on that video is not evil and malicious, I don\u2019t know what is,\u201d Carr said.<\/p>\n
Jurors were asked to determine if Jordan Henning is guilty or not guilty of murder, first or Second-degree manslaughter, or reckless homicide.<\/p>\n
The jury has recommended a the maximum sentence of 20 years.
