Sarah D\u2019Auria, 27, was indicted in November 2024 alongside Robert Newman and Isaac Newman on charges of theft of medical products-conspiracy and two counts of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.<\/p>\n
D\u2019Auria admitted to stealing controlled substances while they were in transit from an out-of-state pharmaceutical distributor to a Kentucky-based distributor before the drugs could reach retail shelves. She also acknowledged her role in a conspiracy to distribute a mixture containing promethazine HCl and codeine.<\/p>\n
Federal prosecutors dropped the second conspiracy to distribute charge.<\/p>\n
Authorities arrested D\u2019Auria in Utah, where police recovered nearly 300 bottles of stolen drugs traced back to Glasgow-based Richie Pharmacal. Federal investigators estimate the stolen drugs had a street value exceeding $600,000.<\/p>\n
D\u2019Auria faces up to 16 years in prison, a $350,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. Prosecutors also plan to seize $20,702 recovered during the investigation, according to court filings.<\/p>\n
Court records show Robert and Isaac Newman have pleaded not guilty. D\u2019Auria\u2019s sentencing is set for June 9.
