\nKentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision near the 4000 block of Grayson Springs Road in Grayson County Monday afternoon that resulted in a fatality.<\/p>\n

The preliminary investigation revealed that 42 year-old Charles E. Cann, of Clarkson, was operating a 2007 GMC Sierra eastbound on Grayson Springs Road when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and struck a tractor-trailer operated by 68 year-old Bennie T. Sims, also of Clarkson.<\/p>\n
Cann was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Grayson County Coroner’s Office. Sims was transported to Owensboro Twin Lakes Medical Center in Leitchfield for non-life-threatening injuries and was later released. <\/p>\n
The affected portion of Grayson Springs Road was closed for several hours to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision. Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Grayson Count Sheriff’s Office, Grayson County EMS, Clarkson Volunteer Fire Department and the Grayson County Coroner’s Office.<\/p>\n
The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
