Eric J. Slayton, 30, was arrested and is being charged with murder, assault, receiving stolen property and theft of a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n
The charges stem from the shooting death of Taylor Mudd and shooting of Shelby Burress in January. The arrest warrant says the incident started when Burress had to swerve to avoid Slayton\u2019s car running a stop sign and continued to a red light where Slayton allegedly pulled up beside Burress\u2019 car and fired multiple rounds into Burress\u2019 vehicle, hitting Mudd multiple times and Burress once.<\/p>\n
In court on April 25, Slayton\u2019s bond was set at $1 million.<\/p>\n
Homicide Commander, Lt. Les Skaggs, said there is still much work to be done as they continue to piece together the full details of this case. <\/p>\n
LMPD is asking if anyone has information related to this incident to call the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD.
