President Donald J. Trump issued a major disaster declaration in Kentucky on April 25.<\/p>\n<p>Persons residing or working in the following thirteen counties are eligible to apply for D-SNAP assistance: Anderson, Butler, Carroll, Christian, Clark, Franklin, Hardin, Hopkins, Jessamine, McCracken, Mercer, Owen and Woodford.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, residents receiving SNAP benefits or DSNAP benefits in approved counties can purchase hot, prepared food at authorized retailers with their benefits until May 31, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Residents receiving SNAP benefits can request and apply for a replacement of benefits due to power outages and other impacts. Any SNAP recipient can request replacement and\/or supplement of benefits whenever food purchased with SNAP benefits is destroyed due to a household disaster.<\/p>\n<p>Prospective applicants should call the Department for Community-Based Services&#8217; call center for D-SNAP at 855-306-8959; this is the fastest way to receive benefits. Applications will be taken by phone Monday\u2013Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT.
