On May 20, at 4 p.m., Christian County Sheriff\u2019s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling north on Madisonville Road after they saw metal slats obstructing the rear windshield and received a \u201cverify proof\u201d notice for the vehicle\u2019s insurance status.<\/p>\n
The driver, 57-year-old Joseph Parrott of Crofton, was unable to provide a valid driver\u2019s license or current proof of insurance. During a consensual search, deputies found a baggie containing a crystallized substance suspected to be methamphetamine on Parrott\u2019s person.<\/p>\n
Additional suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe with residue were found inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Parrott was charged with:<\/p>\n
Obstructed Vision and\/or Windshield
\nFailure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance\/Security (2nd Offense)
\nLicense to be in Possession
\nFailure to Produce Insurance Card
\nPossession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine)
\nDrug Paraphernalia \u2013 Buy\/Possess<\/p>\n
The passenger, 54-year-old James Bush of Hopkinsville, was also removed from the vehicle after showing signs of impairment. Deputies found a metal pipe with burnt residue, a white rock substance suspected to be crack cocaine, a small amount of suspected marijuana, and a single .22 caliber bullet on his person.<\/p>\n
A loaded .22 caliber revolver was also located near his seat.<\/p>\n
Bush was charged with:<\/p>\n
Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Cocaine) \u2013 Enhanced
\nDrug Paraphernalia \u2013 Buy\/Possess
\nPossession of Handgun by Convicted Felon
\nPossession of Marijuana \u2013 Enhanced
\nBush was also served an outstanding warrant for Felony Probation Violation.<\/p>\n
Both men were lodged in the Christian County Jail.
