Louisville Police responded to a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 5700 block of Preston Highway just before 10 p.m. on June 16.<\/p>\n
Officers determined that a man in a wheelchair and in all dark clothing was crossing Preston, not in the crosswalk, was hit by an SUV going northbound on the highway. The driver of the SUV stopped and remained on the scene and called 911 for assistance.<\/p>\n
Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the man dead on the scene.<\/p>\n
No other vehicles were involved in the incident and LMPD\u2019s traffic unit is handling the investigation.
