Zakaria Osman, 18, of Louisville, was arrested June 17. He is charged with unlawful transaction with a minor, robbery, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and three counts of enhanced wanton endangerment.<\/p>\n
The arrest citation says that on June 12, 2025, Osman was one of several people who attempted to steal a Chevrolet Camero while pointing a gun at the owner of the vehicle. When the owner heard the car\u2019s alarm go off, he went into his backyard to see why and was confronted by Osman and his co-defendants who pointed their guns at him.<\/p>\n
After the car owner went back into his home to make sure his two children were safe, the report says the suspect fired their guns at him when he looked out the window. When the homeowner returned fire, Osman and his co-defendants fled in a Jeep Compass. Louisville Metro Police Department said that vehicle had previously been reported stolen.<\/p>\n
During the exchange of gunfire, one of the persons involved had been wounded by gunfire and went to UofL Health Jewish Hospital for treatment. Louisville Metro Police was notified about the gunshot victim and spoke with the patient.<\/p>\n
The citation says the police investigation put Osman at the scene during the incident.<\/p>\n
Osman is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
