\nKentucky State Police responded to a single-vehicle collision near the 800 block of W. Stephen Foster Avenue in Bardstown around 4:40 a.m. EDT Saturday (06\/21) that resulted in a fatality.<\/p>\n

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2022 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 25 year-old Jason Wurts of Taylorsville, lost control before exiting the road and striking a tree and an unoccupied vehicle.<\/p>\n
Wurts was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital for life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, 27 year-old Morgan Williamson also of Taylorsville, was transported to Flaget Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n
The affected portion of W. Stephen Foster Avenue was closed for several hours to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision. Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Bardstown Police Department, Nelson County Coroner, and Nelson County EMS. The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
