A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by 72-year-old Carolyn Brandon from Franklin, was traveling eastbound on Clare Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Franklin Road. Brandon entered the path of a westbound 2020 Toyota Camry, operated by 26-year-old Brendan Ploughe from Scottsville. <\/p>\n
Brandon was transported to Franklin Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Jonathan Blackman, a passenger in Brandon’s vehicle, was taken to Greenview Regional Hospital. Ploughe was also transported to Bowling Green Medical Center. Both were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing and will be led by the Kentucky State Police, who was assisted at the scene by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Allen County EMS.
