The incident happened Wednesday around 7 a.m. at the Walmart located in the 5300 block of Dixie Highway.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest citation, a store employee saw 18-year-old Taydrian Gray attempting to steal around $10 worth of candy. Gray had opened a package of Kit-Kat’s, which made the product unsellable.<\/p>\n
The employee approached Gray, telling him he couldn’t destroy the product and that he would have to pay for it.<\/p>\n
The citation said Gray became upset and started to verbally assault the store employee. <\/p>\n
As he was leaving the store, police said he turned around and punched the employee twice in the face, before picking her up and slamming her into the ground.<\/p>\n
Several other store employees and bystanders held Gray until Louisville Metro Police arrived. <\/p>\n
The victim said she had pain in her left eye from the punch and her left wrist after being slammed on the ground. <\/p>\n
Gray was charged with first-degree robbery.
