\nIn the over 800 pages of content contained within the now-signed Big Beautiful Bill are several changes to the way student loans are handled, which have raised several questions as a new school year quickly approaches.<\/p>\n

Among the changes, the Big Beautiful Bill tightens eligibility requirements of the Pell Grant program for families with larger incomes while also expanding eligibility for those who choose to go into workforce training programs.<\/p>\n

According to the document, it also limits students who have received a full scholarship from being able to utilize Pell Grant funds and downsizes loan repayment options while capping the federal amount an individual is allowed to borrow.<\/p>\n

Officials said many of the changes contained within the bill will not take effect until at least the next school year, and while Western Kentucky University is still waiting on guidance for several of the new changes, students should continue to seek financial aid through traditional methods.<\/p>\n
