Attorney General Russell Coleman signed a letter to Instagram Head Adam Mosseri, where 37 other attorneys general raised concerns over the app\u2019s new location-sharing feature.<\/p>\n
The full letter calls on the Meta-owned app to disable the feature for minors, send an alert outlining the risks of location-sharing, disclose how Instagram will use locations and add an easy option to disable the feature at any time.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is about our kids,\u201d Coleman said in a release. \u201cWithout proper controls on this new feature, sexual predators are easily able to identify and geographically target our kids. As parents and public officials, we\u2019re calling for immediate action to protect our children and vulnerable groups online.\u201d
