Troopers contacted the juvenile\u2019s parents, and a thorough investigation revealed that 41 year-old Justin R. Bevitt, of Topeka, Kansas, had several previous encounters with the juvenile.<\/p>\n
With assistance from the Warren County Commonwealth\u2019s Attorney\u2019s Office, Kentucky State Police obtained a search warrant for Bevitt\u2019s property and requested help from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.<\/p>\n
On Friday, August 22, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents executed a search warrant at a residence at 1932 SW Lane Street in Topeka. During the operation, Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents also served an arrest warrant for Bevitt, which was secured following an investigation by the Kentucky State Police.<\/p>\n
Bevitt was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Additional charges against him are pending in Kansas. Extradition is expected.<\/p>\n
Bevitt is facing Kentucky charges of Procuring or promoting the use of a minor; Unlawful transaction with a minor in the first degree; Unlawful transaction with a minor in the second degree; and Distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor<\/p>\n
The charges allege Bevitt traveled to Kentucky in late July of 2025 and had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing.
