Matthew Haddle, fire chief for the Vine Grove Fire Department, said a thousand thoughts were running through his head when he found out one of his stations was on fire on August 20.<\/p>\n
Chief Haddle said the fire station, located along North Mill Street, was a total loss with mostly rubble standing in its place now. The department also lost three fire trucks, one of them being a 1941 Howe vintage firetruck.<\/p>\n
The Vine Grove Fire Department also lost everything they use for their Santa Truck. Some of the items lost include lights, a sound board, and speakers, and bubble machines.<\/p>\n
The fire chief said they have been hard at work after the fire. On Friday, Chief Haddle met with three different insurance companies: one for the station, one for the trucks, and another one for the equipment.<\/p>\n
Chief Haddle said they are committed to rebuilding and coming back stronger than ever. He mentioned the community has shown great support thus far.<\/p>\n
