\nA man has been arrested for murder after allegedly pushing his 5-year-old son down the stairs of a home in the 2900 block of Conestoga Avenue in the Park DuValle neighborhood .<\/p>\n

According to Louisville Metro Police, officers have arrested 24-year-old Laron D. Gardner in connection with the death of his son on Wednesday, September 3.<\/p>\n
According to Gardner\u2019s arrest slip, he told officers his 5-year-old son had fallen down the stairs, however, EMS believed that the child\u2019s injuries were inconsistent with the suspect\u2019s story.<\/p>\n
The victim was taken to Norton Children\u2019s Hospital, where he passed away his their injuries.<\/p>\n
Forensic examination revealed the victim had severe injuries in multiple areas, which were consistent with the child being assaulted.<\/p>\n
Investigation revealed that Gardner was alone with the victim and his 4-year-old sister at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n
Gardner is believed to have assaulted his son before pushing him down the stairs.<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s sister informed police that Gardner had also kicked her in the chest while she was lying on the floor.<\/p>\n
Gardner is being held in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections and charged with Murder-Domestic Violence; Criminal Abuse 1st Degree, Child 12 & Under; and Assault, 4th Degree (Child Abuse).
