\nA man was arrested early Monday in Nelson County after allegedly trying to flee police.<\/p>\n
According to the Nelson County Sheriff\u2019s Office, just before 1 a.m., police tried to pull over a car for speeding and careless driving on New Haven Road near St. Thomas Lane, but the vehicle instead sped away at speeds of 100 miles per hour.<\/p>\n
Police said the chase led them through several streets, and the car eventually left the roadway at Tollgate Road, damaging property before stopping behind a house.<\/p>\n
The sheriff\u2019s office said after searching the area, they found the alleged driver, 28-year-old Ryan Chesser, and arrested him.<\/p>\n
Chesser was lodged in the Nelson County Correctional Center and charged with speeding, careless driving, fleeing police, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, trafficking controlled substances, wanton endangerment, and criminal mischief. Police said he also had an arrest warrant for a parole violation.
