\nThe Hardin County Sheriff\u2019s Office Criminal Investigations Unit received information on a two-month-old Hardin County infant who was at Norton Children\u2019s Hospital in Louisville with three bilateral healing rib fractures.<\/p>\n

Detectives, in coordination with Child Protective Services, met with the child\u2019s mother at the hospital, where she identified the child\u2019s father as a possible suspect.<\/p>\n
Detectives and Child Protective Services subsequently responded to the residence of 26 year-old Austin Webster, of Cecilia. During an interview, Webster stated the infant had been experiencing gastrointestinal discomfort and bowel issues. He admitted to attempting a technique he had seen on social media in hopes of relieving the child\u2019s symptoms. Webster further acknowledged that he handled the infant in a rough manner and that his actions likely caused the rib fractures.<\/p>\n
Austin Webster was arrested and charged with Criminal Abuse 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony. He is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, October 2.
