Cody Etherton and Chelsey Napper filed a total of four lawsuits in connection to the raid, demanding $12 million in damages.<\/p>\n
Three of Hankison\u2019s bullets traveled through a shared wall and into the couple\u2019s apartment during the raid that ended in Taylor\u2019s death. One bullet entered the room where the couple\u2019s then five-year-old slept.<\/p>\n
A jury found Hankison not guilty of wanton endangerment for the bullets that entered Etherton and Napper\u2019s apartment. The couple\u2019s civil lawsuits followed in response.<\/p>\n
A newly released court filing reveals that those cases filed on behalf of the family were all settled outside of court.<\/p>\n
The U.S. District Court order allows part of the settlement money to go towards the minor plaintiffs. The court recognized their approval isn\u2019t necessary for the amount they would be receiving but confirmed that these claims against Hankinson have been resolved.<\/p>\n
It is not clear how much money Etherton and Napper will receive, but the filing says two of their children received settlements under $25,000.<\/p>\n
A federal grand jury found Hankinson guilty of violating Taylor\u2019s civil rights and using excessive force back in July. He started serving his prison sentence this month.
