\nKentucky State Police are investigating after a police chase ended in a high speed crash late Tuesday night in Daviess County.<\/p>\n

Police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Taurus in McLean County shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to Trooper Corey King. <\/p>\n
He said the driver, later identified as 44 year-old Matthew Abney of Livermore, stopped and pulled over.<\/p>\n
According to Kentucky State Police, the trooper saw meth inside the car and asked Abney to step out of the vehicle. Abney then put the car in drive and sped off north on Highway 431 into Daviess County.<\/p>\n
Police say he continued down the highway at speeds over 120 mph before crashing his car in the 800 block of Hill Bridge Road.<\/p>\n
Abney was arrested and booked into the Daviess County Detention Center under a $50,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 19.<\/p>\n
He is charged with Fleeing or Evading Police, Wanton Endangerment, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Other Traffic Offenses.
