\nLow-income residents in Kentucky can apply for the home energy assistance program, also known as LIHEAP.<\/p>\n

The winter crisis program is available in all 120 counties in the commonwealth.<\/p>\n

Applications will be accepted on a first come-first served basis, or until funds are gone.<\/p>\n

The program assists eligible households facing a home heating emergency, such as loss of heat, low fuel supply or eviction due to unpaid utility bills.<\/p>\n

Benefits are paid directly to the company that provides the household\u2019s energy.<\/p>\n

Applicants must bring the following documentation when applying:<\/p>\n

Proof of Social Security Number or Permanent Residence card (Green Card) for each household member.
\nProof of all household members\u2019 income from the preceding month.
\nThe most current electric bill, a statement from your landlord if electric is included in your rent, or a statement from the utility company if you participate in a Pre-Pay Electric Program.
\nThe account number and name on the account for main heating fuel sources and electric bill.<\/p>\n
