\nKentucky State Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Wednesday morning at a residence in Metcalfe County.<\/p>\n

According to Kentucky State Police Post 15, troopers and detectives were called to Shady Grove Wickerville Road at approximately 9:35 a.m. CST on January 14 following a report of a shooting.<\/p>\n
Investigators found 83 year-old Doris June Huffman, of Hardyville, deceased inside the home from an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Metcalfe County coroner.<\/p>\n
Authorities also located her husband, 87 year-old Vander Huffman, inside the residence with life-threatening injuries from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to T.J. Samson Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the hospital by the Barren County coroner.<\/p>\n
Kentucky State Police said the case remains under investigation.
