Glenn Jackson entered an Alford plea, which allows a defendant to maintain innocence while acknowledging sufficient evidence exists for a conviction.<\/p>\n
Jackson pleaded to reduced charges of manslaughter, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Murder charges were originally filed against him in April 2020.<\/p>\n
Jackson faced charges in April 2020 after investigators found a large amount of blood in his vehicle\u2019s trunk during a search of the couple\u2019s residence.<\/p>\n
Ella Jackson went missing from her Richmond home in October 2019. Her remains were found more than a year later in Pulaski County.<\/p>\n
The case experienced numerous setbacks over six years, including pandemic-related court shutdowns, forensics laboratory delays, judicial recusals and new evidence discoveries.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors are seeking a 14-year prison term as part of the plea agreement. Jackson could potentially be released in under eight years when factoring in time already served.<\/p>\n
Jackson has been free since 2020 after his bond was reduced to $150,000.
