According to Anchorage Middletown Fire spokesperson Salvador Melendez, firefighters responded to a call at around 3:49 p.m. of a structure fire in the 11200 block of River Beauty Loop at the Lyric at Norton Commons apartments.<\/p>\n
At the scene, first responders found visible flames coming from a balcony on the second story of the brick building.<\/p>\n
Units made entry and confirmed that no one was inside the building needing to be rescued.<\/p>\n
The main body of the fire was controlled shortly after firefighters arrived, before they worked to put out areas where the fire spread.<\/p>\n
Melendez says the second and third stories sustained fire damage, and though the flames didn\u2019t spread to the fourth floor, smoke damage was still sustained.<\/p>\n
In total, five units were affected, and eight residents were displaced.<\/p>\n
No injuries were reported from the incident.<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire has not been released.
