Officers responded to a call at around 11:10 a.m. of a person being attacked by dogs in the 13000 block of Reamers Road on Saturday, March 21.<\/p>\n
At the scene, police found two dogs actively attacking victims and displaying aggressive behavior towards first responders.<\/p>\n
Louisville Metro Police Department said due to the immediate threat, officers fired their weapons at the dogs to stop the act, killing both of them.<\/p>\n
Three victims were injured during the attack and were taken to UoL Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
Louisville Metro Police Department said the attack took place at the Shamrock Acres Boarding Kennel and that both dogs were being boarded at the facility.<\/p>\n
Shamrock Acres posted on their social media Saturday afternoon, saying that two of the victims were staff members.<\/p>\n
According to the post, the third victim acted \u201cquickly and courageously\u201d to intervene during the attack, which Shamrock Acres says prevented the outcome from becoming worse.<\/p>\n
Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating the incident in coordination with Louisville Metro Animal Services.
