Auditor Allison Ball is one of the witnesses being called for a hearing titled, “Fraud Prevention: Understanding Fraud in Federally Funded Programs Run by the States,” according to lawmakers.<\/p>\n
Legislators said the hearing is part of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform\u2019s investigation into curbing both federal and state fraud.<\/p>\n
In an annual report released in March, Ball said her office found several glaring issues, including more than $1 billion in financial reporting mistakes for the 2025 fiscal year. The second half of the audit report focused primarily on the Kentucky Medicaid program.<\/p>\n
However, the latest audit found there were some improvements in other areas.<\/p>\n
Ball said Kentucky is making progress toward finishing overdue nursing home inspections after her office noticed the issue two years ago.
