\nAn Owensboro man was arrested Wednesday morning after pulling a knife on a deputy sheriff, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n
\nAn Owensboro man was arrested Wednesday morning after pulling a knife on a deputy sheriff, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n
Deputies responded to a home in the 1700 block of River Road around 7 a.m. to arrest 53 year-old Joseph S. Preston on felony warrants.<\/p>\n
The sheriff\u2019s office says Preston went out the back door, hid behind a tree, and then tried to outrun deputies.<\/p>\n
Deputies say Preston fought back while they were arresting him.<\/p>\n
Preston allegedly pulled out a knife and created a risk of \u201cserious physical harm or death\u201d to the deputies.<\/p>\n
Deputies say Preston was put in a chokehold and dropped the knife, which ended the struggle.<\/p>\n
He was treated for minor injuries at the hospital before being booked into the Daviess County Detention Center. He faces charges of:<\/p>\n
Wanton Endangerment
\nFleeing or Evading Police
\nResisting Arrest
\nBuy\/Possess Drug Paraphernalia
\nWarrant – Failure to Appear
\nWarrant – Probation Violation for Felony Offense<\/p>\n
Preston is being held under a $20,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 17.
