\nA Delta flight departing Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport Sunday morning had to make an emergency landing after a tire blew out on takeoff.<\/p>\n

Natalie Chaudoin, a spokesperson for the airport, said a mechanical issue was reported at 11:30 a.m. immediately following takeoff for a flight traveling to Atlanta.<\/p>\n
Footage of the plane’s return to the runway showed a tire had blown out.<\/p>\n
According to Chaudoin, the plane landed safely on the East Runway, and there were 101 people on board but not injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
The incident closed the East Runway from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. while the plane was relocated to the terminal ramp.<\/p>\n
An airfield inspection was conducted and four flights were diverted to other airports during the runway closure.
