\nA man has been arrested after a deadly shooting in the Shawnee neighborhood Friday evening.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of South 38th Street just after 9:30 p.m., according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. Officials said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Early investigation shows the man had been shot by a \u201cknown suspect\u201d who fled the area. Soon after the shooting, police said he surrendered to Louisville Metro Police and is now in custody.<\/p>\n
Saturday morning, Louisville Metro Police Department announced that 27-year-old Jared Fields has been charged with 2nd degree manslaughter.<\/p>\n
LMPD\u2019s Homicide Unit is handling the ongoing investigation.
