The judge ruled in favor of Coleman, shutting down Margaret\u2019s Movers and barring owner Margaret Weathers from providing moving services in the Commonwealth. The court also ordered the company to pay more than $234,000 in civil penalties and consumer restitution.<\/p>\n
In August, Coleman took legal action against the company following customer complaints. The investigation uncovered that Margaret\u2019s Movers have failed to return consumers\u2019 property after storage, refused to disclose the location of stored items and failed to compensate consumers for damaged belongings.<\/p>\n
It also revealed, with the help of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, that the business had been operating illegally in Kentucky for nearly a decade.
