\nCharges against a Meade County man and woman were dropped Monday in connection to the death of a 2-month-old baby found unresponsive in a hotel room last year.<\/p>\n

Chance Baldwin, 25, and Felicianna Montez, 23, were arrested in September 2025 and charged with manslaughter and child abuse after police responded to a report of an unresponsive infant in Meade County.<\/p>\n

According to the arrest citation, Baldwin and Montez both told officers they had been drinking alcohol throughout the night prior to putting the child down for bed, only to wake up and find the child unresponsive in bed with them.<\/p>\n

Court records now show all charges against Montez were dropped.<\/p>\n

Baldwin pleaded guilty to two counts of wanton endangerment in exchange for a one-year prison sentence. According to court documents, the manslaughter charge against him was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
