The following conditions were added to the list:
\nTerminal illness
\nSickle cell anemia
\nALS
\nParkinson\u2019s disease
\nHIV
\nAIDS
\nHuntington\u2019s disease
\nMuscular dystrophy
\nCachexia or wasting syndrome
\nCrohn\u2019s disease
\nUlcerative colitis
\nNeuropathies
\nSevere arthritis
\nFibromyalgia
\nGlaucoma
\nThe list for the Kentucky Medical Cannabis program already includes conditions such as chronic pain, cancer and post-traumatic stress disorder.<\/p>\n
The governor said the 2023 law setting up Kentucky\u2019s medical cannabis program did not provide much clarity on which conditions qualified.<\/p>\n
Beshear said the law is meant to provide a safe alternative form of pain relief for Kentuckians suffering, yet the law\u2019s lack of clarity prevented too many people from receiving help. This step makes the law more clear. This emergency regulation will help more Kentuckians reclaim their lives through safe, nonaddictive medical cannabis.
