\nHuman skeletal remains discovered earlier this year in northern Warren County have been identified as those of a man who was reported missing nearly 6 years ago.<\/p>\n
\nHuman skeletal remains discovered earlier this year in northern Warren County have been identified as those of a man who was reported missing nearly 6 years ago.<\/p>\n
According to a press release from the Warren County Sheriff\u2019s Office, deputies responded on January 8, 2026 to the 7200 block of Richardsville Road after a timber estimator reported finding what appeared to be human skeletal remains.<\/p>\n
The Warren Ccounty Sheriff’s Office and the coroner\u2019s office responded to the scene and conducted a detailed grid search of the area, collecting remains, clothing and other potential evidence.<\/p>\n
The remains were sent to the Kentucky State Office of Medical Examination for analysis. The examination identified the remains belonged to Raif Velic, who had been reported as missing in October of 2020.<\/p>\n
Velic was reported missing after disappearing from his home on Pruitt Road in the Richardsville Community, allegedly leaving his phone and vehicle behind.<\/p>\n
Despite an extensive initial search involving Warren County Emergency Management, area law enforcement, fire and members of Velic\u2019s family, Velic\u2019s body was not found at the time.<\/p>\n
Warren County Sheriff’s Office says no foul play is suspected in his disappearance or death.<\/p>\n
The identification brings closure to to a missing person case that remained unsolved for several years.<\/p>\n
No additional information relating to the cause of Velic\u2019s death has been released.
