Root reports police were notified around 10:43 p.m. that Barbourville City Police were pursuing a red Chevrolet Cobalt tied to a possible domestic violence complaint received by Knox County authorities. Investigators say family members contacted dispatch after becoming concerned about a possible domestic situation involving three people who had left a residence in Barbourville to get something to eat.<\/p>\n
Barbourville officers located the vehicle, but it allegedly failed to stop, leading to a pursuit from Knox County into Laurel County. The chase ended on KY 312 in southern Laurel County when, during an attempt to box the vehicle in, the Cobalt struck another vehicle and stopped. Laurel County deputies arrived shortly after, and three bodies were found inside.<\/p>\n
The deceased were identified as 21 year-old James Priddy, of Bimble; Jadence Ann Marie Hale; and 19 year-old Kira Lila Hope Asher, of Lily. Investigators say evidence indicates Priddy shot and killed Hale and Asher before taking his own life. The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
Agencies assisting at the scene included Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London-Laurel Rescue Squad, West Knox Volunteer Fire Department, DPS, Corbin Police, Kentucky State Police, and the Laurel County Coroner\u2019s Office.
