Depending on favorable weather and concrete pours reaching required curing levels, the Transportation Cabinet’s district office said traffic is expected to be placed into a one-lane roundabout Monday night.<\/p>\n
When the roundabout pattern is implemented, the intersection signal will be turned off.<\/p>\n
Each direction of Ky. 251 and Ring Road will be reduced to one lane upon approaching the intersection. The one-lane configuration is a temporary pattern until a full roundabout footprint is constructed.<\/p>\n
During this phase, crews will be working in the center of the circle and in the middle of all four approaches.<\/p>\n
The crews will be in close proximity to traffic. Motorists should pay very close attention to work zone signage, workers and equipment.<\/p>\n
The Ring Road roundabout portion of the Ky. 251 widening project is scheduled to be complete by August 1, according to officials.
