Officers responded to a call at around 6:11 p.m. of a shooting at the Texas Roadhouse at 3322 Old Outer Loop on Thursday, June 11.<\/p>\n
At the scene, officers found a man who had been shot and began providing aid until medical crews arrived. The victim was taken to UofL Hospital by EMS and is expected to survive.<\/p>\n
Friday morning, Louisville Metro Police Department announced the arrest of Ronald Winter. He is charged with second-degree assault and is currently being held in Bullitt County Jail.<\/p>\n
According to the arrest warrant, an employee of Texas Roadhouse saw Winter attempt to leave without paying for his meal. The employee confronted Winter and grabbed his arm.<\/p>\n
Police say that is when Winter reached for his waistband area and the employee attempted to tackle him to the ground when he heard a gunshot.<\/p>\n
The employee was shot in the shoulder. He was able to describe Winter, who fled in a red Ford Ranger according to multiple witnesses and surveillance footage, according to police.<\/p>\n
Winter was found by the Bullitt County Sheriff\u2019s Office with a black handgun with a shell casing in the chamber.<\/p>\n
The Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is leading the ongoing investigation.
