\nTwo people were pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on Interstate 75 southbound near the 141-mile marker Saturday afternoon, according to the Scott County Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Fire crews said the crash happened around 2:19 p.m. Officials said a car collided with the rear of a fire engine that was on scene for a separate single-vehicle crash. The coroner\u2019s office said the driver and the front-seat passenger of the car were pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The Scott County Coroner has identified the two victims as 61 year-old Darren Paul Nelson and 62 year-old Shauna Colleen Nelson, both of Knoxville, Tennessee. Authorities say their bodies have been taken to Frankfort for an autopsy.<\/p>\n
Two back-seat passengers were taken to UK HealthCare, where they are listed in stable condition, according to the coroner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
The Scott County Fire Department said three firefighters who were on the truck were taken to local hospitals as a precaution.<\/p>\n
The coroner\u2019s office says the two were traveling home when they came upon slower traffic and lost control of the vehicle. Witnesses reported rain and slick roads in the area at the time of the crash. <\/p>\n
The crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Post 12.
